“Sometimes what you love to do could even make many people to hate you. You may go through non-formal torments, character assassinations, verbal assaults and societal rejections, but if you are convinced about your love for what you are doing, you will never give up.” ~Israelmore Ayivor, Dream Big!: See Your Bigger Picture!

The Liquor Haven is a Montana State liquor store.

At the end of Prohibition in 1933, individual jurisdictions, or states, were given the choice of how to regulate the sale of alcohol. Two general systems arose from this: license states and control states. A license state regulates the industry by issuing licenses. A control state regulates by acting as the only wholesaler of alcoholic beverages in addition to issuing licenses.

Montana is one of 17 control states in the USA.

In 1995 the Department of Revenue converted the 96 state stores to agency stores.

On September 1, 1996, Scott & Gina Simanton purchased The Liquor Haven.

Gina tended to the day-to-day operations of the store while Scott worked at the Zortman-Landusky Mine.

With the unfortunate closing of the mine, Scott went back to working construction. This trade came in handy when the duo purchased a 100 year old building in 2017.

After a complete remodel, The Liquor Haven was moved to it's new location.
